“I…Just…I was so confused and, lost.” her words pinched his heart, she must have been so overwhelmed, he should have stayed back at her apartment with her. But he would have plenty of time to induce the reflex into her. But he was the first person she was supposed to run to whenever things went south.
“Why didn’t you call me?” he questioned her instead, his grip loosened over her hand slightly but he did not let go, instead, his thumb rubbed over her skin in an attempt to comfort her. “Mr Kim! Mr Kim, Namjoon, wait!” he turned to her only after they were out of the hospital building. But he took off his sunglasses for her to see him before he threw a quick greeting at the doctor and held her hand to lead her out of the place. Hope you don’t mind.” Namjoon passed the doctor a stiff smile that was not even visible due to the mask. “I am Miss (Y/N)’s friend, the rest of the formalities can be arranged easily, she needs some rest. “Excuse me?” Doctor Choi eyed him with a fusion of suspicion and confusion “No need, (Y/N) would be going home, she needs rest.” both the heads turned to him, the poor girl looked beat. “Do you need any help, (Y/N)?” the Doctor offered, but before she could respond, Namjoon swept in. She was calm as the doctor continued to direct her the procedures and some formalities to be done. She was evidently tired and evidently defeated, and with the shrouded body lying in the room, he understood why. She had not answered any of his calls or texts and that was eating him away.Īnd he did find her, with his worst assumptions burning into reality, she was speaking with the doctor, Doctor Choi as he had discovered, and for some odd reason, it seemed as if every other person with the surname had sworn to turn into a headache of his. He had slipped into whatever he could get his hold on and rushed to the hospital with his face mask, cap and sunglasses on. It became evident, with each passing moment, that something was very wrong. “Wh-” he blinked and grabbed his reading glasses, for his vision was still bleary and his mind slightly muddled. The sleep-induced haze vanished as soon as he read the time she had reached the hospital. He had fallen asleep after four in the morning, but when he woke up late, at nine, his phone greeted him with the notification of her being in the hospital.
But he could always take care of her, seeing her safe and healthy was all he wanted. He could not blame her, it was her mother after all. And he was slightly relieved, assuming that she was taking rest, as she should be, seeing how she had been wearing herself down. It did not display any movement outside the confinement of her humble apartment. Namjoon had not slept till four in the morning, his eyes had been going back to his phone to watch out for any notification from the tracker she inside her phone.
